New York, 35-55: fewer first dates that go nowhere

In New York you can meet a hundred people a week and still not meet anyone who wants what you want. DuoIntro isn’t open here yet: join the New York waitlist and take your interview with our AI Coach now, so your profile is ready when we open.

DuoIntro isn’t open in New York yet. Signing up puts you on the New York waitlist: free, no commitment, nothing to pay. We only open a city once there are enough compatible members, and we don’t give dates.

Too many options, too little time

New York has no shortage of singles over 35. What it’s short on is time. Long hours, long commutes and a calendar that fills up weeks ahead mean most people can’t afford three drinks a week with strangers who turn out to want something different.

That’s the problem DuoIntro is built for. Instead of swiping, you answer the questions that usually come up on date four: kids, where you want to live, how you handle money and family, what’s non-negotiable. Those answers rule people out before anyone books a table.

How it works

  1. Today: your interview with the CoachAbout 10 minutes, mostly tap-to-answer: life goals, values, daily life, dealbreakers. Stop anytime and pick up later.
  2. Before we open: a verified photoA verification selfie reviewed by a real person. No facial recognition.
  3. Once we open: introductions, only if it’s mutualThe plan: compatible people are introduced to you with the reasons, and you’re only connected if you both say yes. Nothing is guaranteed.

Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Jersey: geography is a dealbreaker too

Ask any New Yorker: a great match on the Upper West Side and a great match in Park Slope are not the same thing on a Tuesday night. Add Queens, Hoboken, Jersey City or Westchester, and a promising connection can quietly die on the subway.

Your Coach asks about your daily routine and how far you’re willing to travel to see someone. Your neighborhood is never shown to other members; it only puts you on the right waitlist.

First-date ideas that work in the city

Keep it short and public: coffee in the West Village, a walk along the Hudson River Greenway, a lap around the Central Park Reservoir, or a drink in Brooklyn Heights with a view of the skyline. A 45-minute coffee beats a three-hour tasting menu with someone you’ve never met.

Tell a friend where you’re going, meet in a busy spot, and get yourself home. The basics apply in every borough.

Why join before we open

The day a city opens, only complete profiles (interview, verified photo, consent to be introduced) can receive introductions.

What the New York waitlist means

DuoIntro isn’t open in New York yet. We open a city only when there are enough complete, compatible profiles to make real introductions, and we don’t give dates.

Joining is free and nothing is charged while you wait. You can delete your account at any time.

How compatibility is scored

Five areas, weighted differently: life goals (35%), values (20%), relationship style (15%), daily life (15%), interests (15%). Anyone who breaks one of your dealbreakers is ruled out. The score shows whether your lives point the same way; chemistry you find out in person.

Safe and private

  • Real people only, never fake profiles.
  • Your city and sensitive answers are never shown.
  • Being introduced takes a separate opt-in you can turn off.

Common questions

I live in New Jersey, Westchester or Long Island. Can I join the New York list?

Yes. The New York list covers the city and nearby suburbs. We’ll confirm the exact area before the city opens.

Can I tell my Coach I won’t date outside my borough?

Your Coach asks about your routine and how far you’ll travel. Those answers count toward compatibility. Your exact location is never shown.

I see a lot of matchmakers in NYC charging big upfront fees. How is this different?

DuoIntro charges nothing today. The model we plan is that you only pay when an introduction is accepted by both people, and the price will be shown before your city opens.

When will DuoIntro open in New York?

We don’t have a date. New York opens once there are enough complete, compatible profiles. We’ll email everyone on the list.

Will people I know see that I signed up?

No. There’s no profile directory to browse. Someone only sees your profile if you’re introduced to them after the city opens.

I travel a lot for work. Does that hurt my chances?

Not by itself. Tell your Coach about your schedule; it counts in the daily-life part of the score, so you’re matched with people whose lives can fit with yours.

How much will DuoIntro cost?

Nothing while you’re on the waitlist. The price isn’t set yet; we’ll show it before your city opens and before any introduction.

Do you guarantee a match?

No one can. Your Coach rules out people who don’t fit and explains every introduction.
